My name is Daniel Lin. I work at a desk and run at a very ordinary pace. I began in the autumn of 2019 after a routine health examination produced a few unwelcome numbers. At first, running felt like an obligation. In time I realised that what kept me going was not discipline, but the quiet interval that began whenever I stepped outside in the evening.

At an Easy Pace started as a handful of documents on an old computer. After each run I would note the weather, the route, and how I felt. Sometimes I wrote about a pair of shoes, an unexpected shower, or the changing shape of a roadside tree. By the end of 2019, there was enough to arrange into this small site.

What I Write About

The subjects are easy running, everyday observations, and the roads nearby. I am not a coach and have no professional background in sport, so you will not find elaborate training plans here. I am more interested in how ordinary people make room for movement during a working week, how to avoid beginning too hard, and how to accept that progress is rarely linear.

On the Benefits of Running

Moderate, regular running can improve cardiovascular fitness, sleep, and mood. Those have also been my own experience. But exercise is not a universal prescription. Age, health, and physical history matter. Nothing on this site replaces medical advice. Persistent pain, chest discomfort, or unusual symptoms are reasons to stop and seek professional guidance.

About the Website

The pages are deliberately simple. There is no registration, no comment system, and no machinery for collecting personal information. New pieces appear occasionally, usually on a weekend morning. I would rather revise an old note carefully than manufacture something new every day.
